Scottish PCI & Angiography Centres.

The 5.2 million population of Scotland are served by 24/7 PCI centres offering primary angioplasty as part of a national Optimal Reperfusion Service for management of acute ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction. These centres are supported by a sixth PCI centre and two additional diagnostic angiography centres.

Additional catheter lab procedures, both diagnostic and interventional e.g. TAVI, cogenital transcatheter procedures & carotid artery stenting, are performed at selected sites.

Scotland has five PCI centres, offering 24/7 pPCI 365 days a year, in addition to urgent and elective angiography and angioplasty. The Golden Jubilee National Hospital, Hairmyres Hospital, the new Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, Ninewells Hospital and Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. In addition Raigmore Hospital currently offers a limited PCI service.

Both Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary and the Ayr Hospital each have diagnostic angiography facilities onsite and provide a limited selective service to their local population
